Foreign students from epidemiologically safe countries are allowed to return to Russia /index.php/2021/03/27/foreign-students-allowed-21/?lang=en Sat, 27 Mar 2021 05:30:00 +0000 /?p=11218 By order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 639-r of 16.03.2021, foreign students, postgraduates, attending physicians and students of preparatory faculties are allowed to return to Russia to continue their studies. The procedure for the entry of students from abroad has been developed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

It should be taken into consideration that only foreign citizens of those countries, which are recommended by Rospotrebnadzor as epidemiologically safe, will be able to enter Russia for study. Currently, foreign students from the following countries can enter Russia: Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Greece, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Maldives, the United Arab Emirates, Seychelles, Serbia, Singapore, Tanzania, Turkey, Finland, Switzerland, Ethiopia, South Korea, South Ossetia, Japan.

The list of countries open for foreign students to enter Russia, regularly updated by Rospotrebnadzor, will be passed on by universities to students, including through personal accounts on university websites, as well as through official pages in social networks and messengers.

Before arriving in Russia, foreign students must notify the university by email at least 10 days in advance of the date of entry into the Russian Federation. After sending the email, you will receive information about the entry by email.

No earlier than 3 calendar days before arriving in Russia, a student must take a test for COVID-19 by PCR and, if the result is negative, receive the corresponding document in Russian or English in their country.

Within 72 hours after entering the territory of Russia, foreign students must take a second PCR test. Before receiving the test results, they must comply with the self-isolation regime at the place of residence. During the self-isolation period the training is conducted online. Without a second test foreign students are not allowed to in-person training.

If during the period of self-isolation, foreign students who have arrived in Russia have the first symptoms of an acute respiratory disease (fever, sore throat, runny nose, cough), they must immediately inform the university and call a doctor.

Scientists of BMSTU are designing a device for detecting the presence of antibodies to COVID-19 at home /index.php/2021/03/26/covid-19-device/?lang=en Fri, 26 Mar 2021 05:26:00 +0000 /?p=11211 The new coronavirus infection has changed the usual rhythm of everybody’s life. Now, with any symptoms of ARVI, in order to prevent COVID-19, doctors recommend taking a PCR test, which can be done in specialized medical centres and state polyclinics. However, every visit
there is associated with the risk of contracting the coronavirus.
The specialists of the IIC “Composites of Russia” of BMSTU are designing a portable device that can determine at home whether a person has antibodies to SARS-CoV-2. The device will be based on biosensors capable of distinguishing IgM and IgG antibodies from each other. The prototype of the device consists of a set of replaceable biosensor chips and a set-top box for a smartphone.
The principle of operation of the covidometer is similar to the measurement of blood sugar using a glucometer. To do the test, you need to drop blood on the sensor. After a few minutes, the screen of the set-top box will display the result: whether there are antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 in
the blood, what their level is.
When the biosensitive material interacts with a patient’s blood sample containing disease marker proteins (antibodies), the electrical conductivity of the sensor changes.
“We use aptamers as biosensitive material,” explained Ivan Komarov, a leading engineer at the IIC Composites of Russia. — These are short, artificially synthesized pieces of DNA or RNA that specifically interact with disease markers. The aptamers are applied to a chip coated with a
conductive layer of reduced graphene oxide. When they bind to disease markers, in this case antibodies, they gain or lose an extra electron. This changes the resistance of the conductive layer. The current passing through it increases or decreases, which is recorded by the device”.
Scientists are considering the possibility of creating similar devices for other types of viruses, such as hepatitis and rotavirus infections.

91ԭ University is against the virus /index.php/2020/10/27/bauman-university-is-against-the-virus/?lang=en Tue, 27 Oct 2020 09:34:00 +0000 /?p=10481 Dear students and staff of the University, today the University has adopted a set of measures to ensure the safety and preservation of our health.
In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among students at the University, from September 1, every day before the start of classes, wet overall cleaning and complete disinfection of contact surfaces: door handles, switches, desks, dining tables are carried out. All rooms and
classrooms are ventilated before the start of classes and in between them. At the entrances to each building, the temperature of the University visitors is measured using a non-contact method. In the corridors, public areas and canteens, hand sanitizers with a special antibacterial agent and autonomous ultraviolet air disinfectants are installed.
Also, which is very important, the University has organized a special sanitary unit that controls the wearing of masks. In addition, the mask mandate throughout the University is monitored by duty officers in the buildings. Lecturers and the academic department monitor the presence of
masks during classes. And to prevent people from crowding in public places, special markings have been applied to maintain a social distance of 1.5 meters.
91ԭ Moscow State Technical University informs students and lecturers about coronavirus prevention measures on a daily basis. Plasma panels and radios regularly remind everyone of the importance of personal hygiene and wearing masks at the University and beyond. The canteens do not serve people without means of individual protection. Information about the need to comply with preventive measures is published on the website, social networks and Wi-Fi networks of the University.
In addition to all of the above, BMSTU has created a Single emergency response team that monitors the situation of the spread of COVID-19 among students and lecturers of the University. For help and questions related to coronavirus infection, the following hotline and mail are available: 8-800-505-35-89, hotline@bmstu.ru.
